8/25 @ 11:30am PST/2:30pm EST : From Hierarchy to Continuum: Rethinking How We Prompt

$47.00

Join us on August 25th @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm PST/2:30 - 3:30 pm EST
‍ ‍

For years, prompting has been taught as a hierarchy; a ladder of independence to climb, with "no prompt" sitting at the top as the goal. But bodies with apraxia don't move up a ladder. They move along a continuum, shifting moment to moment based on regulation, motor planning, and what the body needs right then.

In this live session, I'll walk through why the hierarchy model falls short for those with sensorimotor-planning differences, what a continuum-based approach looks like in practice, and how this shift supports presuming competence, rather than measuring progress by how little support someone needs.

Who this is for: Parents, caregivers, communication partners, family members, educators, OTs, PTs, SLPs, BCBAs, music therapists, spelling/S2C practitioners, and anyone else supporting apraxic autistic individuals.

What to expect: One hour, live, on Tuesday, August 25th @ 2:30-3:30 pm EST/11:30 am- 12:30 pm PST. There's no dedicated Q&A block, but I'll do my best to leave room for questions if we get through all the content.

Is there a replay?
