Say What?! New Billing Codes Just Landed!

Back in July 2023, three new medical codes were introduced that allow reimbursement for caregiver training, even when the child isn’t present. This is a big win for families and therapists alike.

That’s right: parents, caregivers, and loved ones can now be reimbursed for learning how to better support their child without needing the child in the session.

What Does This Mean for Services at SUNRISE Therapies?

At SUNRISE Therapies, empowering families and caregivers is at the heart of what we do. These new billing codes are a welcome step forward in recognizing just how important caregiver education truly is.

We offer customizable packages that prioritize caregiver empowerment through:

  • Online education platforms

  • Consultation calls and virtual meetings

  • In-person coaching sessions

  • Handouts, resources, and strategy planning

And now? These services can potentially be reimbursed under the new codes, depending on your provider and insurance.

How We Help With Reimbursement

We’ve always been passionate about making services more accessible, and that includes helping families explore every funding avenue available. That might include:

  • Regional Center Self-Determination funding

  • Superbills for private insurance

  • School district settlements

And now, customized superbills that include caregiver training codes.

If you’re a parent or caregiver looking to explore reimbursement or a provider with questions about implementation, reach out to us directly. We’re happy to walk you through the process.
